Jean-Sébastien Roy met the required qualifications, was nominated and appointed as Vice-President of the Voyageurs Soccer Supporters Corp in August 2023 after running unopposed in the Voyageurs Board of Directors Election Process 2023.
Jean-Sébastien, a soccer player for 47 years, has been a devoted follower of the national team since their 1986 World Cup qualification. An avid traveler, he joined the group for the Costa Rica match in 2022. He’s attended numerous games of both national teams in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, and Qatar, where he also conducted several TV and radio interviews. He also represented the Voyageurs at Qatar’s Fans Cup.
Jean-Sébastien Roy has been working in marketing and communication for 30 years. He currently serves as a Marketing Director at a technology company, holding similar positions throughout his career, and was also a co-owner of a professional sports club.
Jean-Sébastien has been actively involved on the board of directors of a youth club in Quebec City. He held the position of Vice-President and chaired several committees related to governance, board member elections, and the merger of regional clubs. He has also served on numerous boards in economic development and educational institutions.
Nicky Cottee met the required qualifications, was nominated, and appointed as Secretary of the Voyageurs Soccer Supporters Corp in August 2023.
Nearly two decades spent passionately supporting both club and country have led to some of the best experiences of her life, including a warp speed ride through Mexico City on a riot bus with fellow Voyageurs.
As Red River Rising’s first President, Nicky led the group armed with the knowledge that even a small group of passionate supporters can make an incredible impact in the stands.
Nicky has worked as a University Administrator for nearly 20 years and currently manages the Marketing Management Diploma program at the University of Winnipeg.
Shawn Mann met the required qualifications, was nominated and appointed as Treasurer of the Voyageurs Soccer Supporters Corp in August 2023.
Shawn is a born and raised Edmontonian and is proud to join the Voyageurs BoD. He has been a lifelong Canada Soccer supporter, attending his first match in 1993 and first joined the Voyageurs sections during the 2007 FIFA Men’s U20 World Cup.
Shawn is a Chartered Professional Accountant, and has worked in the accounting and finance profession for the past 17 years. He currently is the Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis for a large, publicly traded corporation based in Edmonton.
Shawn has volunteered on numerous political campaigns, overseeing reporting and tracking of campaign contributions and expenses.
Shawn has a knack for getting himself interviewed either before or after Canada Soccer matches. He has numerous TV appearances in the lead up to Qatar 2022.
Matt Serson met the required qualifications, was nominated and appointed as Member-At-Large of the Voyageurs Soccer Supporters Corp in August 2023 after running unopposed in the Voyageurs Board of Directors Election Process 2023.
Matt is a lifelong and avid Canadian soccer supporter who lives in rural Ottawa, Ontario with his family. Matt began volunteering with the Voyageurs in 2007 and has since served in various positions and leadership roles.
Matt is an economist with the federal public service but prior to that he was the owner, operator and Director of multiple successful restaurants for almost 20 years.
Matt has previously served as a volunteer with various academic, community and sports organizations.
