The Voyageurs is a non-profit organization that relies on the commitment of its volunteer members, who generously invest their time out of passion for Canadian soccer. If you wish to get involved in our organization, there are several ways to do so:
1) Directors
The Voyageurs annual elections are held in August of each year. Candidacy for Directors positions are open to all current paid members who meet the established requirements. Directors play an active role in the strategic decision-making process to ensure transparent, equitable and sound governance in accordance with the organization’s bylaws and all applicable provincial and federal regulations. Directors are expected to commit to a variety of regular meetings and leadership activities. For more information consult the Key Roles Responsibilities of the Board of Directors of the Voyageurs.
2) Participation in Various Committees
The Voyageurs has several committees that are looking for volunteers across the country, fluent in one of our two official languages. If you have a few hours per month to contribute, let us know your interests and skills so we can match you with a committee suited to your profile.
Here’s an overview of committees looking for volunteers:
Local Organizing Committee (LOC)
This committee is primarily responsible for organizing events in various Canadian cities, particularly during local or overseas matches of our national teams. Do you want to gather fans in your community to watch games together?
If you live in a city that hasn’t hosted official viewing parties yet and would like to start an organizing committee there, you can email VoyageursLOC@gmail.com for more information. Take action and contact us so we can support you and promote your event.
This committee primarily manages customer service and handles membership-related inquiries, as well as the availability of tickets in the supporters’ section across different platforms. It also ensures that the needs of our members are addressed efficiently and attentively.
Communication-Marketing Committee
This new committee is responsible for managing bilingual communications both internally and externally. Special attention is given to initiatives aimed at reaching Francophones across all provinces. Its responsibilities include:
- The newsletter
- Social media content planning and management
- Website management and content
- Merchandising and online store
- Media relations and interview requests
Finance and Governance Committee
This committee plays a key role in the financial management and governance of Les Voyageurs. Its responsibilities include:
- Developing a financial plan and reviewing the annual budget in collaboration with the directors
- Evaluating and improving internal control mechanisms for sound management of the organization
- Implementing a risk management process
- Ensuring compliance with criteria necessary to maintain our partnership with Soccer Canada
